DSLreports.com v0.9 Speed test applet

Limited use license:

Class files are free for use under the following conditions:

- There is a clearly visible link under or above the speed
test applet panel on the web page that contains it, pointing
to http://www.dslreports.com:

- The class files are not modified

- Updates are installed as required by dslreports.com

- If the speed test is on the internet, you must provide
dslreports.com the URL so our users can try it if they want..

You are free to use the applet if these conditions are maintained.

INSTALL
-------

1. Make a new directory on the web server that is to contain the
speedtest applet. Unpack all the files into this directory.

2. Create some test download files from MP3s or equivalent.
Provide a range of file sizes as you determine is necessary to
take at least 10 seconds to download.. label them as you desire,
for example, the size in K, or simply the line speed the file
is meant for.

3. Edit test.html to make codebase point to the URL containing
the directory created .. for example, if your speedtest package
is going to live at http://www.myserver.com/proj/speedtest
then codebase must be set to "/proj/speedtest"

4. If you have an UPLOAD URL that can accept data, then provide
that in the uploadurl param... for example
"http://www.myserver.com/cgi-bin/upload.cgi"
If you can find no usable upload URL, then the upload speed test
will be disabled.

5. Edit the label to be a string that is to appear as the title
of the speed test applet. Do not make it too long or too short,
otherwise applet format will be messed up.

6. provide a logo GIF, and save it on top of logo.gif, or leave ours
there.. the size should be reasonable.. say 100x25 or so.

7. Visit http://www.myserver.com/proj/speedtest/test.html
and you should see the grey box turn into the speed test applet..
try verbose and non-verbose modes .. verify in the web server
logs that the correct files are being downloaded.

8. LET US KNOW (speedtest@dslreports.com) THAT YOU HAVE A WORKING
SPEED APPLET, TELL US THE LOCATION (ZIP) OR COUNTRY, AND THE FULL
URL TO THE PAGE. WE WILL INSERT A LINK TO YOU BELOW OUR SPEEDTEST.
